Focus! It’s always an element of practicing and today we test your focus with a melodic idea based around a ii-v-i progression.
The complete webinar from August 1st! There were some great questions on this one, and I thought it was important to share the entire thing with you, unedited, so if you missed the live event you can benefit from the question and answer session we had that day. This content is for members only.
This video was shot live at the Blue Note in Tokyo Japan when I was touring there with Kazumi Watanabe. In the bass solo I’m bringing the Moogerfooger ring modulator in and out of the mix using an expression pedal for an almost distorted effect. It’s subtle (at least I hope i’m not over-using it!) and I think that’s what makes any effect effective – not over using it. Later on this week I’ll release the video tutorial on how I set up my ring mod, and talk about my concepts for why I use it and when I choose to use. This style of documenting shows is something I’ve been doing a lot in the past six months, and something I’m going to release on the site regularly for members. Hopefully it can give you an up close and for the most part great sounding idea of what it’s like being on stage in all kinds of different situations. So enjoy the live footage from Japan, and leave a comment below! This content is for members only.
